Equine Pathways Australia is very appreciative of the MRC Foundation for including us as one of the 13 charities involved in the Foundation’s Charity race day on 19th September 2020. This was our first year of involvement and we very much hope to be involved again in 2021.
As part of the day, each charity was randomly allocated a horse in the MRC Foundation Cup, with those horses running for prizes for their associated charity of $20,000 for the winner, $10,000 for second and $5,000 for third. Our allocated horse, Think We’re Due, trained by Andrew Noblet at Ballarat, ran very well in third place for most of the race before finishing ninth. Andrew was very kind in sending us photos and videos of Think We’re Due in the lead up to the race. Congratulations to Downs Syndrome Victoria who had the winning horse.
Julia ran a virtual race day picnic on Zoom for EPA, and her hat won our Fashions on the Field.
Many thanks to everyone who bought tickets in the MRC Foundations’ fundraising raffle. We sold 318 of 2000 tickets available which was a great effort by everyone and their networks. The proceeds raised were allocated to us as part of our fundraising activity for the day.
Next year, provided the Covid restrictions are behind us, EPA plans to have a race day function at Caulfield on the day. Details will be provided when available, but keep this weekend in September 2021 free!
